First Global Camera Trap Mammal Study



Arlington, VA (August 16, 2011) – The first global camera trap mammal study has documented 105 species in nearly 52,000 images from seven protected areas across the Americas, Africa and Asia. The results of the study were published in the article “Community structure and diversity of tropical mammals: data from a global camera trap network”, in the journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society. The study was led by Dr. Jorge Ahumada, ecologist with the Tropical Ecology Assessment and Monitoring Network (TEAM).

Improv Everywhere

Improv Everywhere is a New York City-based prank collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents.

Setting up a collective of artists who create interactive and educational installation art. The aim of the collective would be to put on quarterly exhibitions within an unusual space of public interest so that the environment of the gallery or museum space, and in tern the educational environment is questioned. The exhibitions, which would perhaps be themed or set out like a conventional museum, with different rooms for different subjects, would convey to the visitor an alternative idea of learning and or interactivity as a key part of an experience.
